The teams in Division 1 showed their balance once again. The league leaders when the night started were Sports Club/LA, playing on their home courts against a depleted Potomac team, but the visitors got a 2-1 win (7-7 in games). Sports Club/LA took a 2-1 lead at #1 and a 2-0 lead at #3 only to lose both matches in five games. Meanwhile, the reverse happened at Results, with the visitors from Bethesda#2 going up 2-1 at #1 and 2-0 at #3 only to lose both in five. Bethesda's Rod Barnes became the first player to take any games off Brian O'Hora since Brian arrived in Washington a year ago. The #2 match was won in three by Results, but the total margin of victory for the three games was only four points (9-7, 9-8, 9-8).
